- André Rousselet was born on October 22, 1922 in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France. He died on May 29, 2016 in France.
- Father of Philippe Rousselet and of Nicolas Rousselet who is now the C.E.O. of the 'G7' companies that André helped build into an economic force.
- Former public servant, he became a businessman, founding in November 1984 the French cable TV company Canal +. He was the executor of the will of his long time friend François Mitterrand.
