Charity Wakefield was born on September 18, 1980 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, UK. She is an actress and producer, known for Wolf Hall (2015), The Player (2015) and Sense & Sensibility (2008).

For Sense & Sensibility (2008) she bought an electric piano on eBay and learned all the songs, so it really was her playing.

Studied acting at the Oxford School of Drama, 2000-03.

She lived in Spain when she was young.

Explained to extras on the set of her unaired TV pilot Broken that she was shocked when her previous show The Player was cancelled because the writers were going to eventually reveal her character Cassandra as the main villain pulling all the strings after gaining the protagonist Alex Kane's trust.

Granddaughter of James Hayter.

[on Rapunzel (2008)] It is really wacky, a bit like [Pedro Almodóvar] in the humor and the storyline. It's written by the same guy [Ed Roe] who wrote the comedy show Smack the Pony (1999). It's very off-the-wall.
