Mamoru Sasaki was born in 1966 in Rikuzentakata, Iwate, Japan. He is an assistant director, known for Ghost in the Shell (1995), The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) and Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (1997). He is married to Nanako Shimazaki.
