J. Alexander was born in South Bronx, New York, USA. He is known for America's Next Top Model (2003), Katy Keene (2020) and Cuts (2005).

Went to school to be an accountant.

Since 1991, he has been casting and coaching runway models, including Naomi Campbell and Kimora Lee Simmons.

After modeling in Tokyo for three years, he settled in Paris.

Was a runway model for Jean-Paul Gaultier in New York City.

Met Monique Pillard then-president of Elite Model Management when he was doing drag. She sent him to Tokyo to model.

When I look at a girl, I'm looking at her for body, for movement. She can be as ugly as the bottom of my shoe, but if she can walk, and have confidence, and look good, that's all that matters for this. You can turn that ugly into beauty.
