- Mother of actor Don DeFore. On May 6, 1953, was one of several family members secretly brought in from Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a surprise for honoree Don DeFore on This Is Your Life (1950), hosted by Ralph Edwards: Don DeFore (1953).
- Her sons Don DeFore and Verne DeFore were the only outside proprietors ever allowed by Walt Disney to operate an independent restaurant inside Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA. Don DeFore's Silver Banjo Restaurant was in Frontierland from 1957 to 1961.
