Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Kenny Wormald grew up in Stoughton, Massachusetts, and began taking dancing lessons at the age of six. He won a string of dance contests throughout the Northeast in his teens and took to dancing professionally. He worked as a dancer and choreographer, appearing in a number of music videos and touring with Justin Timberlake. He made his television debut in an episode of The Drew Carey Show (1995) in 2002, but he rose to worldwide fame in 2010 when Paramount announced that he was to star in the remake of Footloose (2011).

He was in a relationship with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0730841/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Ashley Roberts</a> of the Pussycat Dolls for three years.

Wormald began dancing at age 6, after his mother saw him dancing to a New Kids on the Block music video and won numerous competitions. At age 11, he won the Master Dance of New England, Junior Mr. Dance of New England at age 13, Teen Dancer of Boston at age 14, and Teen Mr. Dance of New England at age 15.

Started taking dance lessons at the Sherry Gold Studio after watching a New Kids on the Block music video.

His ancestry includes English, Finnish, German, Irish, Italian, Lithuanian and Swedish.

Attended and graduated from Stoughton High School in Stoughton, Massachusetts.

Has a child with his late partner <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm4609614/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Lauren Bennett</a> who sadly passed away in July 2026.
