Arrived in Germany with just $15 in her wallet before being discovered by Frank Farian, the producer behind Boney M and Milli Vanilli.

Was part of the 1990s dance duo La Bouche who earned hits such as "Be My Lover" and "Sweet Dreams" with Alaskan native, rapper Lane McCray.

Her single, "Wonderful Dream", was chosen for a Coca-Cola TV commercial prior to her death.

Used to sing in night clubs before embarking into fame.

Was en route to Zurich, Switzerland on the ill-fated Crosssair Flight 3597 to promote her debut solo album "Ready To Fly" when she along with 24 other passengers including María Serrano Serrano and Nathaly van het Ende two members of the German pop trio "Passion Fruit" were all killed when the plane crashed on its descent to Zurich International Airport. The third member of Passion Fruit Debbie St. Maarten and eight other passengers were the sole survivors of the crash.

Was remembered by fans, friends and government officals in a public memorial service held on December 1, 2001 in Berlin, Germany.

Graduated from Wando High School in Charleston, South Carolina.

The group name La Bouche is French for "the mouth".

She and along with Lane McCray earned many awards for La Bouche including the German Grammy, the Echo, for best Dance Song of the Year in 1995, the ASCAP Song Writers Award, the Winter Music Conference's win for best dance recording for the single "Be My Lover" and the Golden Europa, for Best Duo or Group. They were nominated for "Best Dance Video" at the second annual MTV-Europe Music Awards, three video music awards at the MTV VMAs in 1996, and along side No Doubt and Tony Rich for Billboard Music Awards's Best New Artist category.

Is buried at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina.
