Biography

After growing up working in regional theater and film, David Ezell pursued careers as a film historian, licensed psychotherapist, and entrepreneur before returning to acting and professional storytelling. He completed two levels of study at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, followed by a year of Meisner Technique with James Price at Manhattan’s Acting Studio. He also studied with Deena Levy and legendary acting teacher Jack Waltzer.

In 2024, his play The Great American Scream Machine was selected from hundreds of submissions and produced as part of the SOOP Theatre Company’s annual playwriting competition. Later that year, David co-founded Camelback Films. In 2025, his screenplay Occam’s Beard won the First Time Screenwriter Award at the Big Apple Film Festival. The following year, the script won at the Cannes Film Awards and ten additional festivals internationally.
