Carter Nelms has starred across film and TV, particularly in independent Christian and faith-based projects. Though he is a well-rounded working actor today, Carter grew up not with plans to act, but to become an engineer. And become one he did. But despite years of experience in software engineering, the acting world captured him unexpectedly. Through unlikely events, it soon pulled him in completely.
Carter took ownership of this unexpected journey from the start. For years now, he has studied in the Stanislavski system under Tina Gallo, herself a former student of Stella Adler, and he is constantly training and working in his craft. Carter considers acting to be more than a craft and a career; He understands it to also be a calling and a channel for purpose. In this, and in all areas of life, he is convicted in his faith in God and in his belief in the son of God, Jesus Christ. He wants for his career to be an offering to God for his purposes.
Outside of the more right-brained world of acting, Carter has always enjoyed keeping his engineering-oriented left-brain muscles fresh too. The entirety of this website, for example, was entirely written and built by him from the ground up. Carter also has a knack for strategy and is an avid board game hobbyist who loves getting his head lost in a good game with friends and family.
