  • Mohamed Chrif Tribak was born in Larache in 1971. Trained at the Federation of Film Clubs in Morocco, he also studied at La Fémis in Paris. He has directed five short films and several TV movies and mini-series for television. His first feature film, The Time of Comrades, won the Ousman Samben Grand Prize at the African Cinema Festival in Khouribgha in 2009, the First Work Prize at the National Film Festival in Tangier in 2008, the Audience Award at the International Mediterranean Film Festival in Tetouan in 2009, and was selected for the Official Selection at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival in 2008, where it received the Cinema in Motion Award at the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2008. In 2007, he was selected for the Cannes Film Festival workshop. He has been a jury member at national and international festivals. In addition to his directing career, he has published several articles on film and two books, "The Language of Cinema, from Wonder to the Poetry of Sobriety" and "What is Cinema?").
