Biography

Nazanin Nematollahi is an Iranian filmmaker and producer based in Los Angeles. She brings a perspective shaped by a life spent crossing borders-geographical, cultural, and professional. She holds an MFA in Film & Television Producing from UCLA and an MA in Social Justice and Equity in Education from San Francisco State University. Her work centers on underrepresented histories, focusing on women, diasporic communities, and cultural resistance.

Her producing credits include The Color of Memories (2018), Soft Animal (2024), which premiered at the Brooklyn Film Festival, and Dancing in Tomorrowland (2024), which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival, won the Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Cannes American Pavilion, Best Student Film at Palm Springs ShortFest, and Best LGBTQ+ Film at HollyShorts, and was nominated for the 2025 IDA Documentary Awards (Student Short). Nazanin's feature fiction debut is Larissa (2025), which was entirely shot in Iran and premiered at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.
