She began her career at Turner Studios, editing promos for TBS, TNT, and Cartoon Network, and contributing additional editing to the Emmy Award-winning Inside the NBA. While at Turner, she also honed her craft in independent cinema, editing shorts and features before landing her first studio feature, Three Can Play That Game (Sony/Rainforest Films).

    Over the course of her career, Nowell has brought her editorial expertise to projects for Marvel Studios, Netflix, NBC, BET, OWN, SyFy, Nickelodeon, and Lionsgate, among others. Her notable credits include Ironheart (Marvel/Disney+), Grand Crew (NBC), Beauty in Black (Netflix), Sacrifice (BET+), Raising Dion (Netflix), Ambitions (OWN/Will Packer Productions), Sistas (BET/Tyler Perry Studios), Superstition (SyFy/Netflix), and Alpha Man: The Brotherhood of MLK (BET). Her feature work includes Operation Aunties (AMC Networks), Echo at 11 Oak Drive (Symmetry Entertainment), and the acclaimed documentary Cheating the Stillness: The World of Julia Peterkin (PBS).
