Biography

Tyler R. Jenkins is an American filmmaker, musician, and writer. In 2021, they moved to Boston, Massachussetts to earn their Bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music, majoring in Film & Media Scoring and minoring in Creative Writing. At Berklee, they were a trumpet player for the Global Jazz Institute, performing with Brian Blade, John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, and others. In 2026, Jenkins moved to Los Angeles, California to earn their Masters in Fine Arts in film directing at the American Film Institute Conservatory.

Jenkins is currently making independent short films under their production company, This Is Monky, founded in 2022. Their work is known to be irreverent and absurdist, often blending modern social and political commentary with themes which explore epistemic uncertainty. Their goal is to move to solely making feature films by 2030.
