Kamal Ekchai Magar

Kamal Ekchai Magar is a Nepali film maker and editor, who works in Nepalese films. He started his career as a music video editor at Surya Creation in 2009. Later on he ventured into the directorial realm as a music video director. In 2016, Kamal moved to the movie industry . His debut movie "Shirphool" , released in 2018 laid the foundation to his directional success. He diversified into film production under the banner of Performing Art Creation and has directed and produced "Desan"under his company. The subsequent success of 'Desan' demonstrates Kamal's ability to create impactful and original stories on the big screen. His movies have not only been commercially successful but have also been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Best Debut Movie Director at the Spiny Babbler International Film Festival 2022 and Best Director at the Nepal Rural Film Festival 2023, and the Jury Award at the Pim Nepal Film Festival 2022.

Kamal is well-known for making movies with original stories and effectively conveying intended messages to the audience. As a director, he consistently creates high-quality films that people enjoy, contributing to the growth of the movie industry in Nepal. His movies feature strong stories that connect with people, spreading positive vibes. Beyond his role as a filmmaker, Kamal actively participates in various organizations, serving as the Chairperson of Performing Art Creation, an Executive Member of the Film Director Guild Nepal, and a Member of the Film Producer Association, the Association of Music Industries Nepal, and the Music and Film Producers Society.
