Biography

As part of the Grange Hill cast from 1985 to1988 as Jane Bishop, she appeared on the 'Just Say No' anti-drugs single in 1986, which peaked at number 5 on the chart. She can also be seen in the videos for The Mobiles' 1981 single Drowning in Berlin and Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark's Genetic Engineering (1983). She continued to act after leaving Grange Hill, appearing in Doctor Who: The Curse of Fenric and The Bill. Joann trained in acting, singing and dance at Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. Sadly, Joann Kenny, (Jean), passed away on January 3 2010, due to multiple organ failure, pneumonia and alcoholic liver disease, following a long struggle with alcohol addiction. She was 37.
