Her mother is famed television presenter and fashion influencer Camila Canabal, her father, Francisco Blavia, is a well-known sports commentator. Joaquina began studying the violin at age four. She started voice study at six and the piano at seven. She also plays guitar. Joaquina wrote her first song at age eight but shifted to writing spoken word poetry and studying ballet soon after.
