Biography

Y Yang also known as Ennlu in China is a Chinese film director and writer. Her work is known for its visual style with a new and different perspective. She started her career with a short film, "A Story about the Killer Chang"(2015)at the age of 22. This film won over 10 awards in China. This success launched her career as a director. When she was 23, she started making commercials in Shanghai for nearly 30 brands, including Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, ANA (All Nippon Airways), Starbucks, Pandora, Unilever, Alibaba, Huawei, etc. In 2017, Y Yang directed and co-wrote her first television series, "Where the Lost Ones Go." This series is based on a very popular song and also a novel called "Kexibushini." Her young but pioneering storytelling was highly acclaimed by the audience and made her one of the youngest TV series directors in China. In 2020, she worked as a script supervisor on the TV series "The Robot in the Orange Orchard". This series is an Chinese copy of adaption based on the Korean show "I'm Not a Robot". Then she wrote and directed her original TV series "The Silence of the Monster" (2021), which shows her unique emotional storytelling and visual style in the Chinese TV market, and later directed the Chinese ancient costume drama "Love Never Fails" (2022), which shows her classical visual style and exceptional storytelling skills. She has been a guest lecturer at Shanghai Vancouver Film School and Huaqiao University for many times. So far, Y Yang has directed and written 3 TV series with a total of 100 episodes. She is good at telling stories in both modern and traditional ways. In 2023, she started to prepare her first feature film.
