Biography

Equal parts comedy, story craft & high importance of cinematic visuals, Dax's commercials have earned him status as a 'King of Mock Epics' to circles in ad world. His ability to craft both fresh and high quality genre moments and then upend them with bonafide surprises gets you every time. Dax has created clever and highly visual spots with agencies Creature, BBH, BBDO, Banda, GMMB, Havas, & Droga 5, to name a few, with global brands including Burger King, Coke, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Coors, Mentos, Carling, BBVA and many more.

Dax studied film at the University of Texas while creating original comedic film content for Austin's famed Alamo Drafthouse. It's there he began fine-tuning his comedic skills and playing with audience expectations & learning what about his point of view that made people laugh. Upon graduation Dax spent five years writing & directing promos in the MTV On-Air Promos department in NYC.

While serving as one half of the directing duo Sniper Twins, Dax and his former partner were also rappers in their spare time writing, composing, directing and performing in original rap videos. One music video went viral and three won partnerships with Seagate, Hershey's and Adobe, putting the directing duo on the map.

Now more experienced and humor-savvy than ever, Dax spins comedy out of any script he touches as well as writes himself. Dax is developing a few feature scripts and 2 series concepts, one animated and one live action. Unfazed by format, Dax approaches his craft with a constant drive to push the creative envelope, conquer limited resources and inspire his collaborators to embrace the best and most creative ideas and have fun doing it.
