- Composer
Shaked Shachar is a composer, arranger, and pianist whose work spans film, television, and concert music. At Bleeding Fingers Music, the Sony Music Publishing company founded by Hans Zimmer, Steve Kofsky, and Russell Emanuel, he has contributed to scores for projects including Secrets of Our Universe with Tim Peake (Paramount+), Holy Marvels with Dennis Quaid (History Channel), and orchestration for the feature film Why We Dream, recorded at Synchron Stage Vienna.
Born and raised in Haifa, Israel, Shaked studied Composition, Arranging, and Conducting at Rimon School of Music before moving to the U.S. to study film scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston. While at Berklee, he performed in the jazz big band led by Tia Fuller (former saxophonist in Beyoncé's all-female band) and recorded piano with composer Alan Silvestri. He received the Barnes & Noble Books Award for outstanding achievement in the Film Scoring department and was selected for the prestigious Wachter Fellowship. Shaked's music is driven by a desire to forge an emotional bond between the audience and the story, music that speaks for the film, yet can stand on its own as art.
