- Long-time reporter, anchor and announcer for WPIX (Channel 11) in New York from its start-up in 1948 until 1967. Prior to that he was a radio announcer.
- Was a spokesperson for The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 1977 when an agreement was reached with New York metropolitan area television and radio stations (including his former station, WPIX) to build a transmitter atop the World Trade Center which the Port Authority owned.
