John Montanaro

John Montanaro is a Maltese screen and stage actor with over two decades of experience on camera. His television lead roles include Gabriel in the long-running Maltese series Angli (55 episodes) and Sean in La Farfalla. International film and television credits include Lockerbie (2024), Michael Bay's 13 Hours (2016), Alejandro Amenábar's Agora (2009), The Perseus Survivor, Balzan's Contract and the mini series Helen of Troy, alongside a featured role in the BBC documentary Miracles of Christ. He has also played numerous leading roles in Maltese theatre and musicals. John performs in English, Maltese and Italian, with a playing age of mid 40s to early 50s. A competent triathlete, he is an advanced tennis, padel and mountain bike athlete, rides motocross and enduro, and has basic horse-riding skills.
