Afnan Khan is a multi-faceted filmmaker working as a director, producer, actor, writer, and cinematographer. His early body of work spans a wide range of genres, including the sci-fi short Animal Religion, horror drama Birthday, satirical sci-fi comedy Ascension, family drama Camille’s Story, romance Firefly, dark satire Bhishan Singh, short drama Alive, satirical fiction Glitter Bomb, comedy series Bewaqoofian, romantic/dark song Ode to Madness, musical drama Grounds, music album Rindi with Indian Classical Maestro Faizan Ali Khan, and the dark romantic drama Thirst of Desires.
His debut feature film, Kohinoor Heist (comedy, satire), is scheduled for release in 2026. While his second feature film Gangs of Southall is in pre-production.
Alongside filmmaking, Afnan is an award-winning journalist known for his advocacy for journalist unions in South Asia and his in-depth reporting on art, culture, human rights, minority issues, wars in South Asia and the Indus Valley Civilization.
