Biography

Dhwani Shah is an award-winning writer-director originally from Mumbai, India and based in New York City. Her first horror short film, '44', won many accolades, most notably a Top 10 finalist of Shondaland's Women Directing Mentorship at SeriesFest; Honorable Mention at the New York City Horror Film Festival and Best Director at LA Crime & Horror Film Festival. Her latest proof of concept short film 'Seen' is produced by RASA Film Group and stars Kausar Mohammed.

Dhwani's work has been featured and reviewed by many publications including No Film School, Short Films Matter, Film Threat and Canvas Rebel. She was also chosen as a representative for the New York Film Academy on the Amazon Prime show 'The College Tour' during her one year screenwriting conservatory.

Dhwani comes from a strong background of numerous commercials and branded content, but her heart lies in narrative fiction. At present, she is developing three feature films, 'Seen', 'The Tree With Lights' and 'Ride or Die'.
