Biography

Son of Manuel Eduardo de Almeida Lima Quintela (b. 6 January 1946), patrilineal great-grandson of the 1st Viscount of the Charruada Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Pereira (crest) and Rebelo with crown of Viscount (in turn son of the 1st Count of Farrobo Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Pereira (crest) and Rebelo with crown of Count and 2nd Baron of Quintela Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Pereira (crest) and Rebelo with crown of Baron), Architect, and wife Maria da Graça Metelo de Faria de Carvalho (b. Lisbon, 4 January 1949), a Licenciate in Economical and Financial Sciences and businesswoman, who worked at the Ministry of Finance. Has an older brother, Manuel de Carvalho Quintela (b. 11 November 1973), and a younger sister, Sofia de Carvalho Quintela (b. 6 May 1980).

His great-great-great-great-grandfather, Francisco António Lodi, of Italian heritage, was one of the founders, financiers and directors of the National Theatre of São Carlos, in Lisbon, Portugal.

Great-great-great-grandson of Luís da Silva Mouzinho de Albuquerque, 13th and 17th Prime-Minister of Portugal.

Third cousin of actor Francisco Nicholson, and first cousin once removed of his daughter, actress Sofia Nicholson, and third cousin of actresses Patrícia Brito e Cunha and Ana Brito e Cunha.

Stepfather of two boys named Afonso Cyrne (b. March 2000) and Vasco Cyrne (b. September 2005), from Maria's first marriage to José Maria Cyrne.
