Hans, a 20 year old man with an undocumented condition which leaves him unable to feel physical pain or emotion, learns from his doctor that he only has months left to live due to his brain decaying. His doctor (Dr. Günther) views Hans not only with fascination as a scientific rarity... but with an almost fatherly love. This is only amplified when Hans refuses treatment and disappears, leaving the doctor confused and worried. A chase ensues as Dr. Günther attempts to track down Hans while Hans seeks meaning with a strange new motivation.
