- Worked in customs in New Guinea. Went to work at the ABC as Administrative Assistant to the Director of TV Drama and provided advice for "Contrabandits", for which he also wrote several episodes. He worked as a script editor and writer on "Bellbird" and became a producer. In 1980 he was seconded to SBS to assist Bruce Gyngell setting up SBS Television, and became the Head of Television before retiring. In 1983, he was awarded the UN Media Peace Prize for his production "Women of the Sun".
