Biography

Otis Rush was born on April 29, 1934 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, USA. He was a composer, known for To Live and Die in L.A. (1985), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) and Hearts in Atlantis (2001). He was married to Masaki and ???. He died on September 29, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

He was left-handed and played a right-handed guitar upside down.

He started playing guitar when he was ten, borrowing his uncle's guitar in secret. In the late 1940s he moved to Chicago and worked in the stockyards before forming his first band.

He was a blues singer and guitarist who was a major influence on 1960s rock musicians, including Jimmy Page (I), Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Eric Clapton.
