Biography

Claude Makélélé was born on February 18, 1973 in Kinshasa, Zaire [now Democratic Republic of the Congo]. He is an actor, known for Liverpool FC vs Chelsea FC (2005), UEFA Champions League (1992) and Soccer Aid (2006).

He played soccer for French clubs Nantes 1992-1997 and Olympique Marseille 1997-1998, Spanish clubs Celta Vigo 1998-2000 and Real Madrid 2000-2003. He then joined English club Chelsea FC for £16.6 million. He also played for the French national team, participating in the 2002 World Cup.

His partner Noémie Lenoir gave birth to a son named Killian, on February 5th, 2005. He started his relationship with her in the spring of 2004.

Announced his retirement from international football
