Benedict J Hickson

Benedict grew up with music around him, taught the cello and piano from a young age and percussion and the drum set for a local band. He studied music (and harmony) at Secondary School followed by composing from school till now. He has a passion for films, shown by his PostGraduate in acting at Arts Educational and acting, directing and composing for plays and later videos and films. Growing up with music notation (reading and writing music) he has developed further improvisation and composing and creating music instruments with synthesizers using the Digital Audio Workstation Cubase. Other than singing in a choir from when he was young, playing the drum set in a band, playing the keyboard in a Spanish touring band and playing solo cello for a professional play in a theatre has given him good experience.

HIs latest work as film composer has been composing the soundtrack for the psychological horror film, Black Daruma, directed by the Watts brothers - Fionn and Toby Watts.
