Joe Sbar is an actor, choreographer, psychologist, and ballroom dancer. A native of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Joe attended Michigan State University, where he was featured in student films while studying psychology and training as a collegiate competitive ballroom dancer with the Michigan State University Ballroom Dance Team. Upon completing his graduate degree, he moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to begin his career as a school psychologist and an adjunct professor of ballroom dance at Lake Superior State University. After receiving the State of Michigan's highest honor, the Michigan Association of School Psychologists' School Psychologist of the Year award in 2021, Joe became highly-sought as a speaker and commercial actor representing various educational agencies in Michigan. He was able to parlay that success into film and commercial acting. Some of his most notable work in film includes lead roles in the feature-length films Nemesis 6 and Deep Water as well as lead roles in the award-winning short films The Most Delicious Game, Scrabbletown, Wolf's Clothing, and The Boring Show. He has also worked as a principal actor in commercials for RealTruck.com, Goat's Trail, Align Athlete, and the Michigan Education Association.
