In 1975, under the stage name Judy McQueen, she released the song Moving alone, which was in the BRT top 30 for 10 weeks.

As a voice coach and producer for the Mattel commercials, she was previously responsible for coaching children's voices. She also voiced several commercials herself and ran her own vocal agency.

Pelgrims attempted to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1987. She entered the national Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Casanova," written by the Van Passel brothers. She finished in 8th place.

Sonia Pelgrims is a Flemish singer, composer, and actress. She is also a percussionist and plays guitar and bass.

Sonja Pelgrims won the "Zomerhit 79" press award with the group "Puzzle." She also toured East and West Germany with this group.

At the age of ten, she entered the Mechelen Conservatory, where she took piano and music theory lessons. Between the ages of ten and sixteen, she regularly performed in her region with various local bands.

In 1982, Pelgrims and Lily Castel came second in the Baccarabeker, a music competition, and in the 1984 Sabam Prize she came third with Fred Bekky and Anne Mie Gils.

She often appeared as accompanying backing vocals for national and international stars such as James Last, Dionne Warwick, Engelbert Humperdinck, Demis Roussos, Julio Iglesias, Anita Meyer and Will Tura.

In the fall of 2011, she participated in the blind auditions of the VTM singing competition "The Voice of Flanders" with a blues version of The Beatles' "Help!" Pelgrims was not selected by the jury for the next round and reacted very indignantly. None of the coaches pressed the button based on her performance, and perhaps even more painfully, when the four coaches finally turned around, three of them did not recognize her. Koen Wauters did recognize her and said, 'Oh, Sonia,' but the others seemed to be completely baffled: 'What Sonia?'.

She was born into a musical family: her mother was a singer, and her father a drummer in local orchestras.
