Biography

Kobna Holdbrook-Smith was born on August 23, 1977 in Accra, Ghana. He is an actor, known for Mary Poppins Returns (2018), Wonka (2023) and Paddington 2 (2017). He has been married to Nydia A. Swaby since July 27, 2018.

Won the 2006 Best Actor in a Supporting Role Award at the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award, for his performance in "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre.

2019 Laurence Olivier Award winner for Best Actor in a Musical for playing 'Ike Turner' in 'Tina: The Tina Turner Musical'.

Graduated from the Guildford School of Acting in 2000.

He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to Drama. He is an actor in London, Greater London, England.
