Biography

  • Matt Bond is a Music Composer & Creative Producer for Short Films, Music Videos & Indie Games based in Taunton, UK. He specializes in drama, fantasy, science-fiction & horror genres. Bond's work as a composer is often motivated by exploring emotional response, characterized through melodic, textural and atmospheric orchestral, piano led and electronic layered composition. He is attracted to projects that are immersive, sensory and driven by human experience, wonder & escapism. Matt has over five years of experience composing, producing and mixing for independent artists, bands, videographers, studios and independent developers.

His most recent work as composer for the orchestral and piano led soundtrack of short film 'What Was Lost' reached the finalist stage at Busan New Wave Short Film Festival and Korea International Short Film Festival 2023. The film achieved official selection at the acclaimed 8 & Halfilm Awards and the honor of receiving a prestigious bimonthly award at the esteemed Monza Film Fest 2023. The moving introspective piece on loss, personal journey and purpose premiered at a private viewing at The McMillan Theatre in Bridgwater to an excellent reception, and the young crew were received on stage to an enthusiastic round of applause for their efforts.

This was their second collaboration, following a short experimental horror short 'Loop (2022), which follows lead character Hannah as she stumbles across a mysterious book, her path no longer in her hands. Matt's raw and guttural piece for the short featured the Australian aboriginal woodwind instrument, the didgeridoo, which grounded the bleak climatic scene in the forest.

Matt is underway writing the official soundtrack for an untitled fantasy adventure platformer game, launching on Kickstarter campaign for 2023, which marks his first involvement in composition and co-production in video game development. The game is to be produced by a high school friend and first time collaborator at Enormous Studios, launching officially alongside the debut Kickstarter game campaign.
