Singer Linda Thompson was born Linda Uberherr on September 21, 1948 in Germany. Linda started her singing career in the late 60s, as a member of the Comely Sisters. Thompson later was a singer for Love Generation in 1972 and was a member of the Les Humphries Singers for several years in the early 70s. In 1975, Thompson joined the hugely successful disco trio, Silver Convention. Silver Convention had enormous hits in the mid-70s, with the classic disco songs, "Fly, Robin, Fly" and "Get Up and Boogie". She left the group in the summer of 1976, following disagreements with producers Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze. Linda had a minor solo hit with the bouncy "Ooh What a Night" in 1975. Thompson recorded several singles on the "Jupiter Records" label that included two duets with session singer Jerry Rix. In 1980, Linda signed with the label, "Ariola Records", and recorded two more singles. Thompson joined the all-girl group, The Hornettes in the early 80s. The Hornettes had a big hit with the song, "Mannequin", in 1981. Linda continues to perform live with the Hornettes to this very day.
