Biography

Ani Balan is a multi lingual actor and writer whose work spans television, film, and theater. His recent and upcoming screen credits include Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed (Apple TV), Unaccustomed Earth (Netflix), The Beauty (FX), and a co-star appearance on FBI. His film work includes the indie drama Fool's Gold, which received praise from Bob Giraldi, director of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" .

Born and raised in India, Ani trained in Manipal and Bengaluru before moving to the United States. He is equally fluent in Hindi and English. In New York, his stage work includes Sad Magic Sins at the New York Theater Festival, By the People for the People at the Blank Page Theater Festival, and serving as an understudy for the acclaimed Off-Broadway production This Much I Know.

Ani trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York and draws primarily from the Adler technique, with additional training at The Barrow Group, the Chekhov Studio, and the New York Film Academy.

Influenced equally by Indian and western cinema, he cites Javier Bardem, Irrfan Khan, Emma Thompson, Olivia Colman, Matthew McConaughey, and Kamal Haasan as key artistic inspirations.
