Eric McCleery(1926-2004)

Born in 1926. Worked as a radio announcer then joined the ABC in Melbourne as a producer/director. He was responsible for a number of different shows including documentaries, variety programs, and live drama . In 1961 he emigrated to Canada where he worked at the CBC for 25 years. Among the shows he produced were 'Let's Speak English', 'Country Calendar', 'This Land' and 'Analog'. He eventually became a Canadian citizen.
