Rafael Minasbekyan has been a General Manager of GPM KIT Group since September 2015. The group of companies GPM KIT (Cinema. Internet. Television) belongs to Gazprom-Media, the leading media holding in Russia and Eastern Europe. The GPM KIT Group of companies incorporates rental, distribution, and production of feature films alongside TV series. These companies include Central Partnership, Central Partnership Sales House, Film Studio KIT, White Nights, and many others, each of them leading its own market segment. The group of companies GPM KIT also includes the Red Media Holding, which distributes 38 featured channels (the largest portfolio in Russia), including 17 produced by the holding itself.
From 2002 to 2015, Minasbekyan held the position of Vice President and a member of the Shareholder Council and Management Board of Rosgosstrakh, the largest insurance company in Russia and Eastern Europe.
During those years, Minasbekyan served as a member of the Executive Boards of such companies as Providna (Ukraine), Moldasig (Moldova), Rosgosstrakh Armenia, Rosgosstrakh Belarus, and RAT (Russian Automobile Society).
Between 1997 and 2002, he served as Managing Partner and President of the Gorod TV project studio. From 1994 to 1997, he was Managing Partner and President of production studio Amber. From 1993 to 1994, Minasbekyan held the position of a member of the Executive Board of the Cultural Commercial Company Sharm. In 1990, he started working as a TV screenwriter, producer, and director. He has authored, produced and directed over 300 TV programmes, documentaries, feature films, animated films, and marketing campaigns. Rafael Minasbekyan was born on 2 February 1968. In 1992, he completed his medical studies with a specialisation in surgery and became an MD. Three years later, Rafael Minasbekyan completed with distinction his medical residency in psychiatry. In 2005, he graduated from the Moscow Academy of Labour Market and Information Technologies in organisation and crisis management. He also holds a Ph.D. in economics and has authored research articles and books. In 2011, Minasbekyan was awarded the Russian Media Manager national prize (an award given in the media business industry) in category "Contribution to the industry's development, for using advanced approaches and delivering unique marketing ideas." Later in 2019, he was awarded the Golden Eagle prize for the film "Text" in the "Best in 2019" category. In 2018, Minasbekyan received an award from APKIT for "Badaber Fortress" in the "Best TV Film in 2018" category. In 2017, he received an APKIT award, the first one ever given in the "Best TV Film in 2017" category for his Outlaw project on the NTV channel. Rafael Minasbekyan is the producer of 22 feature films and 42 top-class TV series. He is a reknowned author and producer whose works have received over 20 prestigious industrial awards and international prizes.
