Biography

Marvin Columbus was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 29th, 1962.

• In 1980 Marvin Columbus toured with Midnight Starr, Zap, the Gap Band for six months. In

1982 he was the lead dancer or the Flashdance/Beat Street tour with Jennifer Beals in the UK, which was based on the hit movie "Flashdance". He was also featured as a dancer at the "Hollywood Palace" from 1985 to 1987 in his own show "The Palace Dancers" which he also choreographed. The show opened up for various acts such as Kid Creole & The Coconuts, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Straycats and many more. He choreographed the "7Up Fresh Fest" tour and was also a lead dancer, performing alongside acts such as Fatboys, Curtis Blow, Lisa Lisa Cult Jam, Full Force Whoodini and Cool Moe Dee. He continued to be the only lead dancer, as well as choreographer in 1990 for the Chrysalis recording artist Elisa Fiorillo, C + C Music Factory, Tony Toni Tone, Debbie Gibson, and Kemps and Stacy Q.

• In 1993 Marvin started a six month tour to the UK with Kid Creole. From the latter part of 1993 -

1995 Marvin danced and choreographed the Salsa act for Gerardo aka "Rico Suave."

• Marvin choreographed Elisa Fiorillo; who collaborated with Prince int the son "Ooh this I need"

for a show at the Apollo, where she received an unprecedented standing ovation twice as an Italian / Caucasian Artist.

Marvin has been in the dance world for several and mastered various styles of "Old School", "B- Boy & Breaking", "Hip Hop" and Salsa. He has received the award of "Most versatile Dancer" at the Annual Hip-Hop Awards. He has been dancing Salsa (Afro-Cuban Style) for more than 15 years and remains one of the most talented male dancers of our time. He has received a Tony Award for the Off Broadway Play "Stand-Up Tragedy".

Marvin is currently working his Dance TV series "Crossing The Line", The Heavyweight Champion Ken Norton Sr. story and "Girls of Summer" a true story about African-American female Baseball.
