Santosh Baniya is a dynamic and versatile actor in the Nepali film industry, known for his energetic screen presence, versatility, and dedication to his craft. Born on March 30, 2001, in Gauradaha, Jhapa, Nepal, Santosh’s journey toward the entertainment industry began with a strong passion for acting and storytelling. His citizenship name is Khem Baniya. After completing his SLC, he moved away from his hometown to pursue his studies while simultaneously working toward his dream of becoming an actor. Santosh began his media journey as a Radio Jockey in 2015, gaining valuable experience in communication, presentation, and entertainment. He later expanded his work into visual journalism, short films, documentaries, and music-related projects. His passion for performance eventually led him to Mandala Theatre, where he developed his acting skills through theatre and drama. He also worked in advertisements and various creative projects, steadily building his experience in front of the camera and on stage. In 2024, Santosh made his feature-film debut with Hostel 3, where he portrayed the antagonist Romit Jung Pandey. His performance and memorable character received significant appreciation from audiences and helped establish him as a promising new face in Nepali cinema. Following his debut, Santosh continued to expand his filmography with projects including Hostel Again, Baau vs Chora, Gobarganesh, Dhadkan, Kasturee, Behuli, and Lyang Lyang, among others. His diverse selection of characters reflects his ambition to explore different genres and demonstrate his versatility as an actor. Standing at 6 feet tall, Santosh combines a distinctive personality with a strong screen presence. Beyond acting, he continues to develop himself academically and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sociology.
