Rahul Dhakad

Rahul Dhakad is an Indian film composer with several years of experience in the industry. Known for his unique blend of contemporary hybrid scores and classic Hollywood influences, Rahul has contributed music to more than 150 productions for Dhar Mann Studios, based in Los Angeles, California.
Learning and growing as a self taught musician he released his albums "Mémoires", "Survivors", "The Lost World" in year 2019,2021,2022 respectively.
Several singles such as "Truth", "Widow of the forest", "Fire and Blood", "Memento" are also part of his portfolio.
Between 2020-21 he participated in various International Film scoring competitions such as "Berlin International Film Scoring Festival".
In 2020 he got his first short film "Saathi" and In 2021 "Nasamajh".
In year 2021 he got selected for "Ngc Lab" a film scoring workshop in Russia mentored by Harry Gregson Williams. He was the only participant from India. But due to Covid-19 pandemic he couldn't travel to attend it.
In early 2022 he composed music for a short film "The Rapist".
Since May 2022 he is working as a full time composer for Dhar Mann Studios,Los Angeles, California. Which is Well known for it's motivational and inspiring videos and short films.
His musical style comprises of blending traditional orchestral instruments with unusual sounds and textures and hybrid sounds to create a unique sonic palette which pleases both traditional and contemporary listeners. His approach is purely thematic, he loves to write in style of John Williams, James Newton Howard and Thomas Newman. He is very fond of 90's Hollywood movies.
In his own words "For me film music is lifeless without themes and melodies, but in recent times we have seen that contemporary composers are levitating towards textures and new sonic palettes rather than writing melodic or thematic music. So my aim would be to put something on the table which is both traditional and contemporary at the same time."
