  • Known for art directing the SBS TV series "Meet the Chang's" (2022), and the follow up TV series for SBS as production designer for "Meet Leila and Ziad" (2023), Nathan is an emerging Production Designer for film and television drawing from 20 years experience from working as a multidisciplinary designer across architecture and interiors, exhibition and event design.

    Nathan's early career started in the early 2000s as an Associate Producer in online advertising for Ogilvy working with blue chip clients IBM, Qantas and CBA. For many years he worked in allied design industries including an interior design for IKEA Australia where he was part of an international team responsible for the visual merchandise planning for the home decoration department for two new stores at the same time in Tempe, Sydney and Springvale, Melbourne. Having also gained much experience with corporates working as an Exhibition and Event Designer for industries encompassing automotive, building, design, finance, IT and sport.

    In 2022 he worked as a Producer on a philanthropic film commissioned by UTS: University of Technology Sydney for the National First Nations College, then afterwards was Associate Producer for the documentary working with award-winning executive producer Margee Brown (The First Inventors, 2023) in collaboration with creator Andrew Mercado on Outrageous: The Queer History of Australian TV which premiered at World Pride Sydney 2023 as part of the Mardi Gras Queer Film Festival and won best feature film LGBTQ+ Toronto Film Festival, 2023.

    Nathan has studied extensively whilst working professionally, most notably earning a Master of Film and Digital from Sydney College of the Arts at the University of Sydney, and later undertook a Bachelor of Design in Architecture at the University of Sydney gaining academic credit for half the degree because of industry experience and previous studies at Western Sydney University earning a Bachelor of Design and Technology and Graduate Certificate in Design Science (Building), University of Sydney.

    As an educator he tutored in Digital Media at the University of Sydney, taught Design Principles as a lecturer at Qantm College, Graphic Design lecturer at ACU: Australian Catholic University, Strathfield and created and taught the Exhibition Design curriculum at Raffles College of Design and Commerce.

    During COVID he worked as an Exhibition and Marketing Manager for Brenda Colahan Fine Art, pivoting the business online during lockdown increasing sales ten fold by implementing live broadcast software essentially taking the exhibitions programme online.

    From 2023 - 2024 he studied Master of Arts Screen in Production Design at AFTRS: Australian Film, Television and Radio School.

    During this time he was Production Designer on seven short films:

    Kowloon Nights (2023) drama, Action not Hope! (2023) documentary, Escape! (2023) drama, Darwin (2023) proof of concept for TV series "Seven Valleys", Framing Resistance (2023) documentary, Collect Call (2024), Interview with a Hero (2024)
