Biography

Fritz Sterler was born on April 12, 1886. He was an actor, known for Das Geheimnis des Amerika-Docks (1919), Im Übermut (1912) and Los vom Weibe (1919). He died on April 24, 1920.

After World War I Fritz Sterler appeared in front of the camera for the last time for "Die Beichte einer Toten" (1919). Beside it he was active as the head of the section "Gastspiele der von der Front heimgekehrten Bühnenkünstler" for the association Deutscher Bühnen-Angehöriger.

His film career came to an end with the outbreak of World War I and he appeared on stage again exclusively, among others in occupied territories by the Germans to entertain the soldiers.

The actor Fritz Sterler began his stage career in 1904 at the Deutsches Theater in London. In the next years followed engagements in other German cities, in New York and finally in Berlin. From there the went on tour again through different European countries.

Fritz Sterler fell ill by a heavy influenza and he died at the age of only 34.

Fritz Sterler joined the film business in 1912 and he impersonated bigger roles, often in movies directed by Max Mack.
