Dakota Rodes is a New York City-based screenwriter and director. A graduate of the New York University Film School, his work centers on character-driven stories that explore identity, power, and moral reckoning through grounded, cinematic realism.
He recently completed The Walls, a short-film proof of concept starring Marc Menchaca (Ozark), which is currently playing on the festival circuit. The film serves as the foundation for a larger narrative project and reflects Rodes’ interest in emotionally raw performances, social tension, and intimate storytelling within heightened worlds.
Rodes continues to develop original narrative features and series, with a growing focus on the psychological impact of technology and gambling-examining addiction, digital validation, and how modern systems quietly shape identity and behavior.
