Biography

Gave birth to her first child in late Spring 2014.

Was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for "Best Supporting Performance" for her performance in Lillian Hellman's "The Children's Hour" at the Harold Pinter Theatre in 2012, directed by Ian Rickson. The cast also included Ellen Burstyn, Carol Kane, Tobias Menzies, Keira Knightley and Elisabeth Moss.

Worked as a barmaid at the Hampshire Bowman in Southampton until 2007 when she enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London.

Was the first actress to have played one of the central midwives on Call the Midwife (2012) and then become a mother in real life.
