- Göran Fristorp was born on May 26, 1948 in Örebro, Sweden. He is known for Suddenly (2006), Melodifestivalen (1959) and Grönansommar (1986). He died on September 3, 2024 in Hammenhög, Skåne Iän, Sweden.
- He had lived alternately in Thailand for several years, but after the diagnosis of liver cancer he moved back home to Sweden.
- He won the Melodifestivalen in 1973 as one half of the duo Malta and the song "Summer that never says no". The text by the poet Lars Forssell, was criticized for the stanza "your breasts are like swallows that nest".
- Forming the group Malta together with Claes af Geijerstam he took participated at the Eurovision Song Contest in Luxembourg in 1973. They had to change their name to Nova so as not to be confused with the country of Malta.
- Fristorp was the pre-act for the Dutch group Ekseption during their German tour between 1974 and 1975.
- In 2020, Fristorp was diagnosed with liver cancer and had then suffered from the disease for a long time without knowing about it.
