Biography

Alyssa Malloy (née Rivera) is a Latina American filmmaker, producer, and writer whose work spans narrative shorts, features, and immersive media. She earned a BA in English with a Creative Writing emphasis and a minor in Linguistics from the University of South Florida, followed by an MA in English (Creative Writing) and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Missouri State University. Malloy's short film "In Reverie" won Best Experimental Short at the Touchstone Independent Film Festival, and she served as associate producer on the feature Don't, preparing for distribution at AFM 2025. Alongside her creative work, Malloy teaches film and mass media courses at Missouri State University, mentoring students in storytelling, production, and industry practice.
