Biography

Tyya Jade Mattei is a Canadian child actress, born on August 14, 2012, from Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Best known for portraying Barbara Nichols on the Canadian Screen Award Nominated episode "Dark Pond" on CTV's Paranormal Revenge (2023). Additionally, Tyya will play Young Chenoa Adakai in the upcoming feature film Not a Love Story (2026), Young Sofie Meijer in the Short Film The Empty Chair and Sally in the upcoming thriller-horror feature film Until There Is One. She is also slated to play the Girl Mob Boss in the upcoming mockumentary McQueen (2027)

At the age of 8, she began taking acting classes at the Toronto Academy of Acting for Film and Television, eventually graduating with a certificate from its Children's Acting Program.

She is also an accomplished Pre-Professional Competitive Dancer with CDC (Canadian Dance Company), a trained pianist through the Royal Conservatory of Music as well as a skilled swimmer and equestrian.
