Biography

John Salanoa is a Polynesian mix of Samoan, Tongan, Maori and Hawaiian. Born on the island of Oahu, John lived the country life on the north shore. John as a child moved to Southern California. Spending time in Huntington Beach, John worked as an On Air DJ in both the San Diego and Los Angeles markets on country stations to the legendary rock and roll station KNAC. In the early 90's John started working as a background actor for Central Casting and on the sets of ER, Murphy Brown, 90210, Models Inc, and Apollo 13 among others.

John is now back home in Hawaii and has been working in film and television again since 2021 and has done voice over work for NatGeo along with several local commercials and print ads. John has also directed his first SAG short film to be released in 2025. You can find his work in many Hawaiian based films both feature and shorts.
