Biography

Brooklyn-born (a little into Queens, in truth, but a Dodger fan, so we lie).

De-railed from his natural path of life (acting!) by a life-changing traumatic injury (among other things), he began his career as an actor/vocalist/writer/producer/director at age 45, securing a B.F.A. in Acting and Musical Theater in 2000 and an M.A. in The Theatre Arts in 2005 (Hunter College, C.U.N.Y.).

His Master's project was a translation into English of the late 19th century Naturalist movement manifesto "Le Theatre Vivant" by Jean Jullien of Andre Antoine's theater in Montmartre, le Theatre-Libre. In 2007 he adapted and filmed, with director Seamus McNally and cinematographer Jonathan Cliff, the cherished French poem by Jacques Prevert ("Children of Paradise," 1945) "Pour faire le portrait d'un oiseau" ("To Paint the Portrait of a Bird") and starred as the aging, reclusive painter.

As a dramaturg, he continues making short films related to the arts and theater: "Dinner on the Riviera," "Banana Man," "Last Licks," and "Will at Work with The Lord Chamberlain's Men" in which he played Thomas Pope, while appearing often in the New York stage venues like the La Mama Experimental Theater Club, and the New York TV shows as "Law and Order," "Deadline," "Conviction," "Sex and the City" (Season Five).
