Trivia

  • Grant is a driver for WPS Racing in the V8Supercar Championship in Australia, although because of television commitments Denyer has never completed a full season of racing.
  • In 2008 Grant was seriously injured in a bad landing of a monster truck, damaging his spine. At the time he was not expected to walk again but, with determination, he is now (2009) back on his feet and not only returned to TV hosting but intends to resume his V8Supercar - and Mini Challenge - career.
  • During his tenure on Sunrise (2000), Grant Denyer once did a live broadcast from the cockpit of a fighter jet and lost consciousness on air due to the 8-G's of force. Coincidentally this mirrors an earlier fictional scene in Morning Glory (2010) in which a weatherman also passes out in the cockpit of an airplane during a live broadcast for a national breakfast show.
